California Breweries History: Gordon Biersch Brewing Company The first Gordon Biersch brewery restaurant was opened in Palo Alto in 1988. Since then, they have opened additional brewery restaurants in five western states, including California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona and Washington. Gordon Biersch Brewing Company serves authentic German style lagers made on the premises. The Gordon Biersch menu consists of appetizers and entrees influenced by a variety of cuisines, all designed to complement their signature lager beer. Gordon Biersch Golden Export, Pilsner, Märzen, and Blonde Bock beer is also available in a wide variety of bars and restaurants throughout California, Hawaii, Nevada and Arizona and in bottles at local stores in these same areas.
