Canadian Breweries History: Oland Brewery
Oland Brewery in Halifax, Nova Scotia has one of the oldest
brewing histories in Canada. The first Oland family brewery was
started in the 1800's and was named the "Army & Navy Brewery"
which was later changed to S. Oland Sons & Co. The Oland family
also created Moosehead Breweries Limited, Canada's oldest independent
brewery.
In 1971, Labatt entered into a partnership
with Oland Brewery enabling Oland to brew and distribute Labatt national
brands across the Maritimes.
A longtime Maritime favourite, Oland Export was introduced in the
early 1920s, and is cold aged to deliver characteristic crispness.
